“Growing together and aiming High”
Welcome to Awliscombe Church of England Primary School. We are a unique rural village school which is nestled on the edge of the Blackdown hills. We are in partnership with Payhembury Church of England School and together we make the FORT federation.
FORT stands for Fostering friendship, One vision, Readiness to learn and Trusting in God. Our schools are only a few miles apart.
At the heart of everything we do are the children. The seven years they spend with us is an extremely precious time of enormous growth and change. We seek to make every opportunity a learning experience and squeeze the best out of each and every day.
Although learning is our core purpose, so is laughter, friendship, challenge, exploration and collaboration. The aim of this website is to give you the general ethos of the school, its broad educational philosophy and to provide you with useful information.
We are a small, friendly and caring school committed to providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.
Although we are small, with numbers of around 80, we provide education for children aged from four to eleven, organised into three classes. We also have a governor led Pre -school which can take children from 3 years old.
We believe the relationship between the school and the parent is vitally important to the child's overall development. We are always pleased to answer questions and discuss important issues you may wish to raise.
We hope this information will be of help to you. It cannot, of course, replace a visit to the school. Such a visit would enable you to chat to staff and children and gain a first-hand impression of our school and the quality of educational provision.
Please enjoy looking around the website, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
